Sustainability Schedules↑
Sustainability Schedules scale deployments to zero outside working hours to cut cost and energy use. Nothing is deleted. While a deployment is scaled to zero, it is described as asleep.
Set up a sustainability schedule↑
- Create a schedule of type Sustainability from Schedules > New Schedule, and set the days, time zone, and the times to stop and start. See Create a sustainability schedule.
- Add deployments to the schedule by turning on Sustainability Schedule in the Add-Ons step when you create a deployment. See Add a deployment to a sustainability schedule.
After the schedule is running, you can track it from Day-2 Ops as described below.
View your schedules↑
Select Day-2 Ops in the CAEPE menu, then scroll to Sustainability Schedules. The card shows the total number of schedules, how many are Active, Stopped, Suspended, or in Error, and a short list of your schedules.
To see all schedules and their savings, select View Information on the card. The Sustainability Schedule page opens on the Schedules tab.
Schedules tab↑
You can filter the tab by schedule, by status (Sleep, Suspended, or Error), and by time range.
Overview↑
The overview summarises the selected schedules:
- Saved, last 30 days: the cost saved by the schedules.
- Schedules, Deployments, Namespaces, and Clusters: how many are covered by the schedules.
- Slept: the total number of hours that deployments were asleep.
- Total Cluster Cost: the percentage of your deployments that have a schedule, for example 14 of 21 deployments scheduled.
- Needs Attention: schedules that need checking, for example a schedule that is active but not saving.
Savings by schedule↑
Two charts compare your schedules:
- Cost: the cost saved by each schedule.
- Sleep Hours: the number of hours each schedule kept its deployments asleep.
Breakdown by schedule↑
The table lists every schedule:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Schedule Name | The name of the schedule. |
| Deployments | The number of deployments in the schedule. |
| Currently Sleep | How many of the schedule's deployments are asleep now. |
| State | Active, Suspended, or Error. |
| Saved This Month | The cost saved by the schedule this month. |
Select Details to see more about a schedule.
Not Scheduled tab↑
The Not Scheduled tab lists deployments that are not part of any schedule. Use it to find deployments that could be added to a schedule to save more.
Activity tab↑
The Activity tab shows a record of schedule activity.
